While Alward will work on smaller projects, the company focuses on the services needed for whole home remodels.  These more expansive remodels require a sophisticated approach to research, team development and coordination, precise estimating, and detailed scheduling.  Alward also offers HazMat evaluation and Structural exploration of the client’s home to reduce the risk of unforeseen and expensive change orders after construction has begun.

Alward completes 8-10 whole home remodels every year.  We use those experiences for continuous learning and take the time to extract the labor, material, and subcontractor cost data for use in a proprietary database.  We leverage that data in both our Preliminary and Detailed Estimates so that our clients get the most current and accurate cost estimation possible.

Once a client has selected Alward as their preferred general contractor, we will conduct a deep dive into the construction costs, frequently generating 25-35-page cost reports. No one wants this level of detail, but it is vital to help the client and the rest of the design team make a value-based assessment of the project's subsections. Alward's project cost analysis enables the client and design team to align the project scope with the budget.

Alward's project management depends on a tight relationship between our Site Supervisor, who directs work on-site, and our Project Managers, who manage the project finances, schedules, and subcontractor contracts.  We use various software (Procore, Smartsheets, Excel, Sage, Microsoft) to manage these processes and team communications with the challenging goal of keeping the entire project team (construction, design, and client) up to date and on the same page.  Our ability to use cloud-based software makes it easier for our design and client counterparts to get the information they need when they want it.
