East Bay Craftsman
RENOVATION & REMODEL
Berkeley, California
The two-story Berkeley Hills home dates from 1910 and retained its original Craftsman elements of wood details and artisan fixtures. Alward carefully preserved the living room's honed copper mantel framed by built-in benches and wood dado, along with the formal dining room's cabinetry and French doors. The dated kitchen and bathrooms received sympathetic makeovers, including the addition of a custom Japanese soaking tub in Alaskan Cedar.
